These Guidelines are established pursuant to Article 19 of the Standards for the Installation and Safety Management of Public Hazardous Materials and Flammable High-Pressure Gases. 2. The six categories of public hazardous materials referred to in these Guidelines are as follows: (1) Class 1: Oxidising solids. (2) Class 2: Flammable solids. (3) Class 3: Pyrophoric liquids, pyrophoric solids, and substances which, in contact with water, emit flammable gases. (4) Class 4: Flammable liquids. (5) Class 5: Self-reactive substances and organic peroxides. (6) Class 6: Oxidising liquids. 3. Premises for the manufacture, storage and handling of the six categories of public hazardous materials shall, in accordance with these Guidelines, display a Type 1 sign (as inFigure 1) and a Type 2 sign (as inFigure 2)。 4. The specifications for the Type 1 sign are as follows: (1)
Content: according to the category of premises, the sign shall state one of the following: "Public Hazardous Materials Manufacturing Premises", "Public Hazardous Materials Outdoor Storage Premises", "Public Hazardous Materials Indoor Storage Premises", "Public Hazardous Materials Indoor Storage Tank Premises", "Public Hazardous Materials Outdoor Storage Tank Premises", "Public Hazardous Materials Underground Storage Tank Premises", "Public Hazardous Materials Class 1 Sales Premises", "Public Hazardous Materials Class 2 Sales Premises", or "Public Hazardous Materials General Handling Premises". (2) Colour: black text on a white background. (3) Size: short side at least 0.3 m; long side at least 0.6 m. (4) Character size: at least 4 cm by 4 cm. (5)
Material: weather-resistant and durable acrylic sheet, or a material of equivalent or better performance, with text that is clear, easily visible and resistant to fading. (6) Location: shall be placed near the entrance of the premises, in a position clearly visible from outside. 5. The specifications for the Type 2 sign are as follows: (1) Information sign: 1. (3) The maximum quantity of public hazardous materials at the manufacturing, storage and handling premises, and the equivalent regulated multiple. (4) The name and title of the safety supervisor. 2. Colour: black text on a white background. 3. Size: short side at least 0.3 m; long side at least 0.6 m. 4. Character size: at least 3 cm by 3 cm. 5.

Alkali metal peroxides among Class 1 oxidising solids, and Class 3 substances which emit flammable gases in contact with water, shall bear the words "Keep Dry" in white on a blue background. (2)
Class 2 flammable solids, Class 3 pyrophoric liquids and solids, Class 4 flammable liquids, and Class 5 self-reactive substances and organic peroxides shall bear the words "No Open Flames" in white on a red background. 2.
